My Inner Flora (Manifest) is the opening piece of a poetic video performance series My Inner Flora rooted in interspecies thinking and ecological listening. Combining real footage with the artist’s handwritten manifesto, the work functions both as a personal invocation and a collective call to awaken.
Created in response to the climate emergency and the disconnection from ancestral ways of knowing, the piece proposes that healing does not begin with domination, but with attention. It invites viewers to shift their perception—from human-centered logic to a more relational, receptive state of being, where plants, textures, silences, and gestures are seen as equal participants in the act of knowing.
What if the plants you pass every day are not background, but teachers—and your own inner flora already knows how to survive? This guiding question pulses at the center of the work, calling forth an embodied memory and sensorial intelligence that modern life has largely forgotten.
Through voice performance, natural imagery, and handwritten poetry, My Inner Flora Manifest reveals the unseen threads between inner and outer ecologies. The flora within becomes a mirror for the endangered species without, and each frame opens a door to deeper listening.
The full series expands with each chapter, each one centered on a specific endangered endemic plant—offering their stories as medicine, their presence as protest, and their wisdom as path. Rather than offering fixed solutions, this work opens imaginative space for response: emotional, poetic, and rooted in more-than-human kinship.
